Quintet of the Unseen

Bill Viola is the grand-daddy of video art. Period. His works, once famously described as ‘paintings that move’, look like something Caravaggio would have made if he'd had a flip video. Viola films the movements, actions and emotional responses of his subjects in super slow motion, exposing the physical characteristics of their grief, astonishment, joy or pain in minute detail. Think Daniel Day Lewis under a microscope and you’ll get the picture. Only in London for a split second, Love Art London will get you behind the scenes to see this seminal work in all its glory.

Blain Southern is the brain child of the founders of Haunch of Venison whose decision to go rogue caused quite a stir last year. Luckily all their major league artists, including Bill Viola, followed immediately behind them. Phew. Rory Blain will join us for the evening to discuss video art, dreams, the human condition and religion.

This event is for Members Only (20 places)
