Peckham might be forever associated with Del Boy and Rodney Trotter but over the past few years it’s quietly become the most vibrant and experimental art quarter in town. So, when a group of young creative types pitched the idea to commandeer the top four floors of Peckham’s disused NCP car park for an exhibition of sculpture the idea was so outrageous the council actually swallowed it. Now in its fifth year, Bold Tendencies has become a prime fixture for art lovers willing to travel off the beaten track in search of adventure. And with a rooftop Campari Bar designed by Paloma Gormley, daughter of Antony, and spectacular panoramic views of London from the top, this really is quite something. Although this year the organisers expect upwards of 45,000 visitors, you’ll be taking a very private tour with curator Lucy Britton and the artists Jess Flood-Paddock and James Capper. And Peckham’s not even that far, only 10 minutes from London Bridge. Cowabunga.
