What’s the best thing about a recession? No not sky-rocketing redundancy figures, rather the amount of incredible buildings that lay unoccupied, just gagging for a group of artists to take them over and do something amazing. The Library in Battersea is a classic case in point. Thanks to a group of savvy developers and a clan of ambitious artists this unique Edwardian Grade II listed gem, complete with original oak panelled walls and beautiful stained glass windows, has been transformed from a dusty, underappreciated library into one of the quirkiest exhibition spaces in London. And for its first ever show 23 artists have been invited to pull something quite magical out of the bag. Artists William Peers, Georgina Mascolo, Emma de Clercq, Anna Norlander and Simon Ward will be joining us for a special guided tour and talking to us about the site specific works they’ve produced for this fantastic show. Utterly biblio-tastic.

This event is for Members Only (25 places)
