As 2011 is the Chinese Year of the Rabbit and since everyone loves fluffy wuffy bunny wabbits we thought we’d celebrate in style. When it comes to art China's given the world quite a lot really. They turned up the oldest art works ever carbon dated, 17,500 to 18,300 years old if those boffins in white lab coats are to be believed. They showed the world how to make paper and where would Turner have been without that? They sculpted, buried and dug up those much loved Terracotta Warriors and more recently they’ve produced some of the biggest names in contemporary art like Ai Weiwei. So what have we given them in return? Well, Alastair Gibson for one thing. Alastair is one of the world’s leading experts on Chinese Ceramics & Works of Art and he’s invited Love Art Londoners into his private gallery in St. James’s to see some eye-poppingly rare objects at close quarters. Outstanding.
