A Gothic Masterpiece

Right, pack your toothbrush we’re spending the night at one of London’s most awe-inspiring hotels. After nearly a century of abandonment and a £200m face lift, the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel has finally reopened in all its Gothic splendour. And what a spectacular sight it is. During the years it was uninhabited you may have unwittingly caught a glimpse of its magnificent interior in Harry Potter, Batman, 102 Dalmatians or other such films requiring that quintessential gothic creepiness.

In addition to its architectural wonders, what will make this experience truly unforgettable is the man we've arranged to lead you through the building's nooks and crannies. No, Royden Stock’s not some stuffy old architectural historian. He was actually the building’s security guard for 15 years. He’s almost as much of a gem as the building itself and knows it like the back of his hand. And he's picked up some great stories along the way, like the time he got Bruce Willis out of a tricky situation. Or the one about Morgan Freeman’s body double. Who knew Morgan Freeman even had a body double? Jaw-dropping.
