Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na MAP MAN! Okay, so Daniel Crouch may not wear a cape, drive a Mapmobile, operate from a cave or have a side-kick called Robin (actually, he wears a suit, drives a Volvo, works in Mayfair and has a side-kick called Nick) but when it comes to fantastically rare maps and atlases he does technically qualify as a superhero. Daniel will be chatting to us about some of the most exquisitely illustrated maps and navigational charts known to man, including the Rudimentum Novitiorum from 1475, Geographiae by Claudius Ptolemaeus from 1513, Donker’s De Zee-Atlas from around 1660 and one of the oldest maps ever recorded. Daniel discovered the latter had been discarded and used as the binding for a book so did what all superheroes do and jumped in to save this gem from extinction. Thank goodness for Daniel Crouch eh? Unmissable.
